Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Asset Security Academy ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit asa-com.org (the "Website") or contact us. We collect as little information as possible and use it only for the purposes described below.

The party responsible for your personal information (the data controller) is ASA Computers, Inc., 48761 Kato Rd, Fremont, California 94538-7313, USA, which operates the Website under the trade name Asset Security Academy. Contact: info@asa-com.org.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Checklist request form: your first name, email address, and — only if you choose to provide them — how you currently hold crypto assets and your main security concern.
  • Contact form and email: your name, email address, the topic you select and the content of your message.
  • Consent record: confirmation that you ticked the consent box, and the date and time of your submission.

We never ask for and you should never send recovery phrases, private keys, passwords, wallet addresses, account logins, identity documents or payment details.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our web server records standard technical log data such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the date and time of the request. These logs are used only to operate and secure the Website and are deleted on a regular basis.

The Website does not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies or tracking pixels. The self-check and address exercise on our home page run entirely in your browser; your answers are not sent to us or stored.

2. How we use your information

  • To send you the free checklist you requested.
  • To reply to your questions and messages.
  • To understand, in aggregate, which topics our visitors care about so we can improve our educational materials.
  • To protect the Website against spam and abuse, and to comply with legal obligations.

We do not send marketing newsletters unless you separately ask to receive them. We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

3. Legal bases (for visitors in the EEA and UK)

We process your information on the basis of your consent (checklist requests), our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries and keeping the Website secure, and compliance with legal obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the Website, and only as needed:

  • Form delivery: our forms are processed by FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), which forwards your submission to our email inbox. FormSubmit may display a spam-protection check (CAPTCHA) before forwarding your submission.
  • Email and web hosting: our email provider and our web hosting provider store and transmit messages and server logs on our behalf.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users or others.

5. Data retention

We keep checklist requests and correspondence for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or a longer period is required by law.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion and correction, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@asa-com.org. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Security

The Website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we limit access to submitted information to the people who need it to respond to you. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please never send sensitive secrets such as recovery phrases or passwords.

8. Children

The Website is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Third-party links

Our pages may link to external websites, such as government reporting portals. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites.

10. Advertising

We may promote the Website through online advertising services such as Google Ads. Clicking an ad may allow the advertising service to record that click under its own privacy policy. The Website itself does not place advertising cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed.
